Metatations™ on Metapsychiatry

The MetaWay  ~  All-Day Retreats

Facilitated by Susan von Reichenbach
Viewing mankind and the universe in a metaphysical
context, we will explore the idea that consciousness is
the sole reality ~ where all our problems find their source
and their solution: “Nothing can exist in the body or out of
the body that is not [first] in consciousness. If we want to
be healed when problems, difficulties or sickness arise,
then consciousness has to be brought to an awareness of
its perfect harmony in God. God is our Life, and there is
no other Life but that One — and that Life is perfect
always.”  (Thomas Hora, MD, Founder of Metapsychiatry)

All “seekers and finders” are welcome.   For reservations,

Retreats IV & V on November 16, 2013 and February 15,
2014
:"What Constitutes Effective Prayer? Part I & 2" explores
Metapsybchiatry's insights into effective and meaningful prayer.

"Interestingly enough, everyone prays, perhaps all the time without
realizing it. There is a saying that there are no atheists in fox
holes. Regardless of whether we consider ourselves to be atheists
or agnostics or something else [religious], we all have something
we cherish and trust in, cling to or lean on. Whatever we cherish,
trust or cling to, is really our 'God.' Everyone has at least one god;
some have more. It is almost impossible to be human without
prayer: Man is an eminently prayerful being. The question is not
whether we are praying, but what are we praying to and how?"

(Thomas Hora, MD, Founder of Metapsychiatry)

In our gathering together, we will explore the valid approaches to
prayer that Metapsychiatry presents and learn how these can
guide us to understand new opportunities to realize the Infinite
Goodness that God is and thereby to increase our ability to
demonstrate healing and divine blessings in our lives. The Meta
perspective requires cultivating an awareness of our already
existing Oneness in God, the Cosmic Consciousness, and
awakening our individual consciousness to a spiritual quality of
seeing and beholding that contradicts general beliefs and religious
instruction about how to pray. Begging, bargaining, petitioning, or
viewing God as a "punishment & reward system," are invalid
approaches to prayer, based on a mistaken idea of the nature of
God and of man, the consciousness, as Its direct expression. The
prayer "formula" that most human beings follow needs to be
examined and corrected.

To really grasp the substance of what it is that makes prayer
effective, we must have clarity about the nature of Divine Reality
(a synonym for God), about the ever-present operation of Its
spiritual laws as perfect (and identify them, so we know what they
are), the UNconditional Love that God IS, and the essential point
that communication with God is only One Way -- from God to man.
If this mode of discerning and seeing all life in the context of a
Perfect Transcendent Reality were taught and practiced
universally, our experiences, individual and collective, would be
qualitatively transformed, and we would naturally be in alignment
with the Infinite Perfect Life that IS God where there are no
mistakes or suffering.

If mankind would pray rightly, as Metapsychiatry and those great
enlightened teachers over time who have taught scientific prayer
have guided us, there would be "peace on Earth, goodwill toward
men;" there would be transformation, harmony and healing in our
bodies, minds and interpersonal experiences; in addition, we would
be realizing an overall sense of well-being and an increased
freedom from worry and anxieties, from problems and stress, from
symptoms and sickness. We are all moving through a world of
heavy vibrations, of the "tribulations" of ignorance (what Dr. Hora
called the "downward drag"), and praying, mostly in vain, for relief.
Understanding how to bring consciousness to an awareness of its
perfect harmony in God is what helps us to "overcome the world,"
to transcend  ignorance, and, in turn, can bestow wisdom and
blessings into our lives and into the lives of those around us.

"God's Grace [Goodness] is flooding the universe all of the
time; but human consciousness is not receptive to It, so
blessings seem to be scarce"
(Dr. Hora).

The Meta formula for prayer tunes our consciousness to be
receptive to God's Grace.

Retreat III on April 27th, 2013: "In the End, Everything Except
God is a Metaphor
" (Dr. Hora) will explore the symbolic nature of
the phenomenal world and how it can help us to distinguish
between "what seems to be" and "what really is," in other words,
to discern the difference between the unreal and the Real,
between the impermanent, finite, visible, dimensional, changeable
and imperfect world of our human existence and the eternal,
infinite, invisible, non-dimensional, constant and perfect Spiritual
Reality of our divine identity as an infinite consciousness in the
Infinite Cosmic Consciousness.

In Meta work, we speak of "symbolic structures": "Everything in the
material world is a symbolic statement, either about God, which is
Truth and Reality, or about unreality, illusion, and falsehood" (Dr.
Hora). Identifying and defining symbolic structures in the "form"
world of matter can be enlightening and heighten our faculty of
awareness to be able to see beyond the illusory pictures that
distract and misinform us, that mislead us to "judge by
appearances" and experiences; if rightly understood, the material
experience can point us to see beyond a phenomenon to its real
substance, to discern the difference between what is real (divine in
nature) and what is a lie (illusory in nature), in order that we may
perceive the indestructible and enduring, invisible Creation of the
One Eternal One everywhere and our absolute Oneness with It,
dependency on It, and eternal place in It. "There is no Life apart
from God" (Dr. Hora), regardless of any picture to the contrary,
and not even so-called death can separate us from It.

Retreat II on March 30th, 2013: This Meta Prologue to Easter"
will examine the experience of dying through a metaphysical lens
and the role of consciousness in this inevitable and unavoidable
human occurrence: "Everything material is finite, and it dies; but in
Spiritual Reality, there is no death ... Our divine identity cannot
die, and this truth is comforting" (Dr. Hora).

We will look at different aspects of so-called "death," as an
experience, a transition, a passing, an illusion; how to see it in a
spiritually mature way, so as not to be grieving and mourning
excessively and dramatizing the event; how to prepare our own
consciousness to meet the moment when we drop the body (by
having a spiritualized "GPS" and proper mental "attire," as we
would for any journey into unknown terrain), in order to greet that
holy instant fearlessly, with equanimity and in peaceful assurance;
how to become awakened to the deathless nature of the journey
and be equipped in consciousness to travel across the
frequencies of vibration that govern this world into a realization of
a vaster and infinite Reality. Jesus, as a fully enlightened human
being, is our great paradigm, and we will seek to deepen our
understanding of his life and message to teach us also what he
knew about "leaving the world and going to the Father" (JN 16:28).
There is no sadness or agony if we can come to understand Paul's
challenge and to realize it within ourselves: "Death, where is thy
sting?" (I COR 15:56).
Any and All
Seekers are Welcome
2013 RETREAT III: "In the End, Everything Except
God is a Metaphor"
(Dr. Hora) calls on us to examine the
true nature of this world. Mystics over time and now physicists
are pointing us toward ideas about the non-material substance
of the physical universe, the holographic nature of it,
endeavoring to help humanity to see more, in order to
overcome our miseducation and the limitations of thought in
which we mostly live. Are we listening?

Greeting & Meeting:  Registration & Coffee
Tuning our Instruments, Setting the Tone
Presentations on the illusory and counterfeit nature of the
phenomenal world and defining what we call "symbolic
structures"; clarifying what these structures are pointing to --
deciphering the messages within them -- and seeing beyond
the material to the non-material, beyond the seen to the unseen,
in order to become aware of a Perfect Universe of Mind, existing
beyond the one we seem to be in, and of our already existing
Oneness in It; dialogues.
Lunch and Free Time (Vegetarian meals available)
"Everything in the phenomenal world is both symbolic of Life
and a counterfeit at the same time"
(Dr. Hora)
Waking up to see what is real and what is not, and that God's
Reality is both Transcendent (apart from the material world) and
Immanent (throughout the Universe everywhere) leads us to
close the gaps in our misperceptions and lack of understanding.
As Hindu scholar, Eknath Easwaren says: "Once we live in a
unitive state, our passport is good in both worlds." Learning to
exist harmoniously and fruitfully in the material world while
dwelling in the Divine Reality is a goal of the Meta work;
questions, comments and dialogues.
