An entry from Meta Prayers and Principles.

Prayer of Beholding
Everything everywhere is already all right. *

In the realm of beholding, there are no persons anywhere:
there is neither self nor other;
there is only the awareness of God’s perfect Reality
revealing all life forms
in absolute perfection and beauty.
God did not create a perfect world – God created a perfect spiritual Universe. The
Prayer of Beholding endeavors to help us see the wholeness and perfection of
God’s creation and to be aware of the infinite Omnipresence operating everywhere
in every thing; it helps us realize “what really is” – that God has already created a
perfect spiritual Universe and that everything in It is already perfect – in spite of
“what seems to be.” As Dr. Hora said, “Everything [in this world] is here for God in
a symbolic way.” Beholding invites us to see beyond symbols, persons and
conditions, “to see the invisible, think the unthinkable, perceive the unimaginable,
and understand the inconceivable” (Thomas Hora). This prayer does not apply to
the world of dimensionality or to the world of duality, where good and bad are
experienced (although evidence of divine perfection breaks through our human
affairs every moment, harmonizing and correcting them); but it does apply to the
“unseen,” eternal Universe of the One Mind, the indestructible, nondimensional,
noumenal Order and true dwelling place of consciousness.

This prayer leads us to become aware of God as a self-revealing Presence of
Love and Intelligence in our lives and to be grateful and joyous. Beholding is an
elevated level of awareness which is suprasensory and transcendent and which
occurs by grace of God. (However, we can encourage it to be revealed by
becoming interested in developing the faculty of spiritual discernment, a faculty
which sees the presence and the “good of God:” that is, the spiritual qualities
which manifest through individuals and the blessings and goodness which flow into
our lives.) It is necessary to be sufficiently awakened to expand our “mindsight,” so
that we can come to see the underlying perfect Life beyond “what seems to be,”
beyond any pictures of ignorance, such as illness or deprivation, beyond the
visible material world of pleasure and pain, beyond the dream of life in interaction,
beyond the veil of illusion.  Every time some distortion impresses our visual field,
we must immediately remind ourselves of the truth of divine Reality. This spiritual
orientation can have very far-reaching, beneficial consequences. Jesus was
apparently liberated from the hypnotic suggestions in visual impressions and,
therefore, was able to see so perfectly with the spiritual eye (as God sees) that he
could look at a leper, disfigured and full of sores, and behold wholeness – a
perfect spiritual manifestation of God. The Buddha is another great beholder – a
fully conscious manifestation of God’s Being – serenely aware of beauty, harmony,
peace, assurance, love, wisdom, seeing what is real and really knowing what is
not. It is the knowledge and ultimately the realization of God’s Perfect Order that
heals and brings us peace. As Christ-consciousnesses, we can each receive in-
sight, learn to “see in,” and behold the divine perfection bursting through
everything everywhere. What we behold is what we will experience. Therefore, “we
look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the
things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal”
(II COR 4:18). Learning to behold is learning to worship “in spirit and in truth”
(JN 4:24).
